I am using an WindSonic Option 3 anemometer with a CR6 datalogger and am running into trouble programing and wiring the sensors. I tried to set up the sensor as a Custom Sensor in Short Cut based on the Windsonic Option 1 setting but am receiving readings of NaN for wind speed and direction. I was wondering if anyone has advice for programming the WindSonic Option 3 anemometers. Thanks!
It really depends on which output you are using with the Windsonic Option 3. The RS232 output would be exactly the same as the Windsonic 1, if it is set to the standard Gill output format. The wiring will be a bit different. You will have to check the Gill manual for that.
The RS485 output needs the C channels on the CR6 to be set to RS485, but reading in the data is otherwise the same.
