223 圆柱型石膏块由环绕在两支同轴电极上的石膏构成，能够限制电流流向石膏块内部，最大限度的降低电势接地回路。石膏处于外部电极和土壤之间，作为可能影响电导率的盐类物质的缓冲区。
223 通过AM16/32-系列扩展板连接数据采集器。电流会导致223过早退化，而扩展板仅在测量过程中开启。
Campbell Scientific建议勿在冬天使用223模块。

Data Logger Considerations
