MD9 多子站接口使用一根单独的同轴线缆最多可连接200台数据采集器。网络中的每一台数据采集器都拥有一个单一的，用户指定的地址。电脑和特定数据采集器之间的通讯通过MD9的地址发送，允许其他网络保持静止状态。同轴电缆总长度可达3英里，网络中的每个MD9略微降低了最大传输距离。

Effective 1 January 2004, the MD9 Multidrop Interface was generally replaced for new multidrop applications by the MD485 Multidrop Interface. The MD9 remains available for customers who have MD9 networks currently deployed in the field. MD9s and MD485s can NOT be used in the same network.
The MD9 Multidrop Interface links a central computer to up to 200 data loggers on a single coaxial cable. Total cable length can be up to 3 miles. At least two MD9s are required within a network.
